Remember 'Speakers Corner'?!?!?!

by Carmen Cruz

...remember how awesome and awkward it was to watch all those 'Speakers Corner' videos? How many of you would hop into one of their booths (when it would tour around and make its to your neck of the woods) and speak your mind? (**raises hand**).

I came across a wicked article (courtesy AUX magazine) talking about what made 'Speakers Corner' the coolest thing out there and why it's missed.
Make sure you check out all the videos. You might be surprised to see some of the celebs who stopped by SC, just for sh*ts and giggles.
 Here ya go....
Enjoy.

Earth Hour 2014 ~ Turn It Off To Get Turned On

by Carmen Cruz

Earth Hour is THIS Saturday (March 29th, 2014).
So what's the deal?
The World Wildlife Federation (WWF) came up with the brilliant idea to help unite people across the globe in an effort to raise awareness and protect our little planet.
All you have to do is turn out the lights and unplug a few of your electronics on Saturday between 8:30pm and 9:30pm.
This year, Spiderman is the official superhero ambassador of Earth Hour.

It's all in the name of name of conservation baby! So what the heck are you supposed to do in the dark for an hour? Leave it to the people at Durex Condoms to take advantage of the hour of darkness to encourage us all to enjoy a little rub & tickle. Here's the video they're released to promote their
"Turn Off To Turn On' campaign.

To find out what you can do to make a difference, even if it's jut a teeny tiny one, head on over to the Earth Hour Website.

Enjoy.

TED Vancouver Sculpture Set Up Over Downtown

by Carmen Cruz

Artist Janet Echelman’s 745-foot wide installation — made of soft netting — will be suspended between the roof of the 24-storey Fairmont Waterfront Hotel and the Vancouver Convention Centre where TED2014 is being held.
What makes this EXTRA cool is the fact that people will be able to choreograph the lighting of the giant sculpture by waving their cell phones. CooooOOOOooool!!!

Snagged this pic from my amigo Chris S. Gracias!!!!!

The TED conference will be in Vancouver for the very first time from March 17th - 21st.

Enjoy.

Songs Of The Week: De La Soul, The Heavy, Coldplay, Vindata, Childish Gambino

by Carmen Cruz

Musical Awesomeness.

Vindata ~ All I Really Need (feat. Kenzie May)

Coldplay ~ Magic - Off their new album called 'Ghost Stories'. Chris Martin has been working with U2 on various side projects, and from the  sounds of this new album, U2 seems to have rubbed off on the British band. Coldplay's sound has evolved a bit, and yet they're still Coldplay. You likey?

The Heavy ~ Girl - An oldie, but dear GAD it's a goodie!!!

De Le Soul ~ Dilla Plugged In

Childish Gambino ~ Die Without You - An amazing cover of a tune by PM Dawn from back in the early 90's.

After their appearance at this year's Grammys, it seems as though most media outlets have become obsessed with seeing who's under those Daft Punk robot masks.

Thomas Bangalter AKA: Tall Daft Punk Robot
