I need some chapstick. My lips hurt real bad!
Oh how I LOVE Napoleon Dynamite!!!
Only my close friends know of, and have heard first hand my WICKED Kip impression. Seriously. If I could put it on my resume, I would.
Here's Kip's wedding song. (**It takes a bit longer to load up, but hey! I say she's worth it! :)**)
FYI: I may or may not be singing it to myself in a coffee shop at this very moment (as I type).
On February 16th, at a small show in San Francisco, Chris Cornell paid tribute to Whitney Houston by covering one of her biggest hits 'I will always love you' (** a song originally written by Dolly Parton**).
Seu Jorge ~ Rebel Rebel - A Brazilian singer who (for 'The Life Aquatic' movie soundtrack) covers a bunch of classic David Bowie songs, in Portuguese. SO AMAZING! When Bowie himself heard the covers, he was quoted as saying, "had Seu Jorge not recorded my songs in Portuguese I would never have heard this new level of beauty which he has imbued them with." CooooooOOOOooool!
Son Lux~ Betray - If you like Massive Attack, you'll love this dude. Sexy, ambient-type music. It's the bees knees! Seriously.
Jamie Lidell ~ Multiply - A white boy with a whole lotta soul.
Iron & Wine ~ The Devil Never Sleeps - C'mon!!! It's IRON & WINE!!!!
Lorene Scafaria ~ Girls Aren't Supposed To - A fantastic tune about a gal dating someone who just can't 'seal the deal'. Listen to the lyrics and you'll understand ;)
It looks like members of the Gorillaz, Outkast and LCD Soundsystem are making sweet, sweet music together.
Yup, Damon Albarn (Gorrilaz), LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy and Outkast's Andre 3000 have just finished working on a wicked new track for Converse, titled "DoYaThing." What makes it even more sugary and delicious is that you'll be available to download the song FOR FREE!!!
Here's a small sample of what you can expect. I'm loving it already:
Here's a behind the scenes look at the making of the music video:
Mark your calendars for February 23rd. The new tune will be available to download, GRATIS, on Converse UK's website.
A big thanks to Hugh for letting me know about this video. HILARIOUS!!!! Make sure you watch it all the way to the end. This sweet posse does a montage of music.
So, not to show off or anything, but my mom is AWESOME. She's hilarious and can sometimes shock people (I guess that's where I got it from ;).
If I were to describe my mama, I'd have to say.... watch this video. The grandma in the background? Yeah, that's EXACTLY what my mom is like.
Some new ear candy from Jack White, just in time for Valentine's Day. Coincidence? I think not.
It seems like Jack White can do no wrong, huh?!?! In March, he'll be debuting his solo live shows (COOL!), but ONLY in the United States (BOO!).
Enjoy!
Adele says she's tired of writing break up albums and she's fed up with being a 'bitter witch.'
After walking away with 6 Grammys on Sunday, Adele has decided that she'll be taking 4 - 5 years away from the music industry to focus on her personal life and her relationship with new boyfriend Simon Koneck.
(NOOOOO!!!! SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!)
In a recent interview with Vogue, the singer says she blames her hectic work schedule for the failure of her previous relationships. She goes on to say that with time off, " at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch."
There's no word yet on exactly when Adele will be walking away from the spotlight, but rest assured, she'll be greatly missed :(.
RANDOM FACT: I once read an interview with Adele (AKA: Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) where she said that she kept her Grammys above her toilet (after winning a bunch of the awards for her debut album back in 2009). I'm thinking she'll need a bigger bathroom.
Is it WORSE or BETTER than the original version by Rebecca Black?
It's like trying to decide whether to put lemon or kosher salt into an open would.
Decisions, decisions.
My coworker Miné had this stinking song stuck in my head ALL DAY.
I'd catch myself singing 'Friday, Friday' under my breath and then have the sudden overwhelming urge to punch myself in the throat.
It turns out that today is the one year anniversary of the day this musical gem was released into the world. It's been raping our ears ever since.
You know I've gotta do this..... sorry.
My favourite line?
Ohhhhh... that's a tough one. It's gotta be a toss up between, 'We, we ,we so excited' ~OR~ 'Tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterwards.'
Oh Rebecca Black! Your lyrics have cut to the core of me.
Found this by accident.
A wicked cover to the 80's tune 'Take On Me' by the Norwegian band A-ha.
So what makes this so amazing awesome and different from any other cover? Click and find out for yourself.
Ahhh yes. Nothing says sexy like an accordion. You may think I'm kidding, but I'm not. For realzies.
In case you're too young (or confused) to remember the tune, here's the original version.
I remember being in love with the lead singer... and I was less than 5 years old. (Those crazy Latina's!!!)
Really? Seriously?
I can't say that I picture a guy saying... 'Dude! Check out the hottie in the anatomically correct muscle leggings! She's got both intellect AND style!!!!'
Je pense pas.
If, for some reason, you're interested in purchasing these beauties, OR seeing what they have for all you boys out there, check out Black Milk. They're the ones guilty...er... I mean, responsible for these leggings. Let's just say that their clothing selection can get pretty interesting.
Oh how I looooove Spanish music!!! If you love it as much as I do, like it, or are just plain curious about it, please feel free to check out the songs of the week. Explore, enjoy, and above all, SHAKE THAT BOOTY!!!!
Shakira & Alejandro Sanz ~ La Tortura. - A song about temptation and lusting after someone. (FYI: I've always believed that Shakira is meant to be heard in Spanish. Her tunes are so amazing. In English, she's kinda cheezy).
Julieta Venegas ~ Me Voy. - A song that says farewell to a relationship, whether it was your fault or not. Great tune!!!
Gloria Estefan ~ Mi Tierra. - Another artist who I find sooooo much more amazing to listen to in Spanish. Am I biased? Yes. Absolutely. This song talks about Gloria missing her homeland of Cuba. It's actually a really emotional and beautiful song... that you wanna salsa to ;D
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs ~ Strawberry Fields Forever. - Yup, it's a cover of the über famous Beetles tune. Before you click play, make sure you keep in mind that 1) this is a ska version of the song 2) it's half in Spanish 3) it's completely not what you expect. You're going to either love this or hate it. Me? I'm personally a HUGE fan!
Joe Vasconcellos ~ Las Seis - A fellow Chileno!!! Seriously, I go nuts when I hear his music. It's so Chilean. It's hard to explain it, but it makes me incredibly happy :). Note how the audience reacts. This should explain why I'm usually jumping around and dancing at most concerts... usually by myself. Fail.
You know you have some SERIOUS camel toe when you have to invest in this;
Ladies & Gentlemen, step right up and check out the latest must have. It's the 'Camel Toe Cup' from a company called Smooth Groove!!!
Like a sports cup for dudes, the ladies stuff this polymer cup down the front of their too tight pants/ leggings to avoid that unsightly 'moose knuckle' look. According to sources: "There are three different colors to choose from (black, white, and clear), and it comes in a "discreet" satin pouch. It's washable, thank god, and they say it's "extremely comfortable.""
Here's a revolutionary thought... why not wear looser fitting pants??? Or perhaps longer t-shirts???
I'm thinking that idea just earned me a gold star sticker. ;D
